UPDATE: Portion of US-2/41 closed near Escanaba due to downed lines

ESCANABA, MI— The Escanaba Department of Public Safety is asking drivers to stay away from the area of US-2/41 and K.5 Road.

Sunday around 6 p.m., officers were dispatched for multiple power lines across the highway. US-2/41 is currently closed from North 30^th Street to 13.75 Road until the area is clear of lines.

Police are asking everyone to avoid the area and take alternate routes when traveling east into Escanaba or west out of Escanaba.
