ESCANABA, MI— Escanaba Department of Public Safety and Public Works are encouraging residents to not park in the angled parking on Ludington Street to allow the plows enough room to pass through and clear the roadway.
Snow removal crews have also encountered vehicles parked illegally on the wrong side of the roadway, preventing those roads to be cleared of snow due to clearance issues with the plows. Public Safety will be contacted for these situations and if the owner of the vehicle is unable to remove the vehicle immediately for the plows, the vehicles will be towed.
Due to the predicted amount of snow and drifting snow, even legally parked vehicles on the roadway may cause issues with certain roadways being cleared. It is for this reason that we are requesting to not park on the roads if at all possible during this storm.
