UP road, bridge and rest area work approaching

MARQUETTE, MI— A few infrastructure projects get underway next week in the Upper Peninsula.

On Monday, May 9, the Michigan Department of Transportation will start resurfacing US-41/M-28 from County Road FNO to west of County Road AKE in Marquette County. The estimated completion date is June 21.

Painting work on the Cut River Bridge on US-2 in Mackinac County resumes Monday. One lane will be open using temporary traffic signals when work is underway.

And coming up on May 16, MDOT will start interior work on rest areas on M-28 in Seney and US-2 in Naubinway. The projects will bring the facilities up to Americans with Disabilities standards.

The rest area parking lots will remain open. Portable restrooms and hand wash stations will be provided.
