Marquette's Lakeshore Boulevard intersection closed for work

Michigan Department of Transportation

MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette intersection will be closed for a couple of days as work continues on a road rebuilding project.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says Lakeshore Boulevard will be closed at the US-41/M-28 intersection Wednesday morning through Thursday evening for storm sewer work. The schedule is tentative and may change.

The intersection will be closed, but businesses and residences on South Lakeshore Boulevard will be accessible via a signed detour on Front Street and Baraga Avenue.

The work is part of a project to rebuild the highway from the Front Street roundabout to Furnace Street. It’s expected to be complete in October.
