Highway construction in Houghton to finish up this summer

HOUGHTON, MI— Work on US-41 in Houghton is expected to start up again May 1st.

The $9.6 million project to rebuild 1.1 miles of the highway began in 2021.

This year’s project will finish water and sewer work, grading, and restoration of the Franklin Square area. It’s expected to be completed sometime this June.

Officials say the project will improve safety for drivers and pedestrians.
