MDOT fixing US-2 in Western UP

GOGEBIC COUNTY, MI— Two road projects begin in Gogebic County this week.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is spending $1.8 million to resurface 3.3 miles of US-2 from Bessemer to Ironwood. Work begins Monday, June 26th, and is estimated to last through August 4th.

Another $1.4 million will be spent to resurface 5.2 miles of US-2 from Wakefield east. That project is slated to start Wednesday, June 28th, and be finished by the end of August.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
