Ishpeming roundabout construction to resume this month

ISHPEMING, MI— Work on the Ishpeming roundabout at the intersection of US-41 and Lakeshore Drive will resume later this month.

Preparations will be made in the next couple of weeks for a traffic shift, lane reductions, and detour.

Work on the intersection is expected to begin April 1^st. At that time, last year’s detour of North Lakeshore Drive will be reinstated and temporary traffic signals at the intersection of US-41 and Country Lane will be reactivated.

This year’s first phase of construction includes shifting all traffic to the south side of the highway, with one lane in each direction and a center left-turn lane for westbound traffic at Lakeshore Drive.

The overall project is expected to be completed in late October.
