ISHPEMING, MI— A traffic detour in preparation for resumption of the Ishpeming roundabout project begins next week.
North Lakeshore Drive will be closed beginning Monday. A detour will be posted on Country Lane and River Parkway. A temporary signal at the intersection of US-41/M-28 and Country Lane that is currently in flash mode will begin normal operation when the detour starts.
During this phase of the project all traffic will be shifted to the south side of US-41/M-28, with one lane in each direction and a center left-turn lane for westbound traffic at Lakeshore Drive.
The detour is expected to be in place through early to mid-July.
