Hiawatha Forest road closure starts next week

GLADSTONE, MI— A portion of road in the Hiawatha National Forest will be closed for bridge replacement this summer.

FSR-3458—known as Burma North—will be temporarily closed from May 28th to August 20th. The Carp River Bridge, about 20 miles northwest of Saint Ignace, will be replaced, making the road impassable.

A section of the road about a mile in length will be closed between FSR-3332 to the north and FSR-3479 to the south for the duration of the project.

The public is asked to find alternate routes while traveling in the area.
