Menominee receives grant to upgrade harbor

MENOMINEE, MI— The City of Menominee is getting more than $21 million for port improvements.

The U.S. Department of Transportation money will be used to make upgrades to the port operated by KK Integrated Logistics.

Funding will reconstruct a dock wall along the Menominee Harbor and install rail infrastructure needed to transport freight from the harbor to customers in the region.

Money for the project comes from the DOT’s Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity—or RAISE—grant program.
