road work

MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI— Pavement sealing on M-553 in Marquette County is expected to begin next week.

The Department of Transportation is investing about $2.1 million to resurface 13 miles of the road between M-35 north to County Road 480.

Scheduled to begin Monday, work will include pavement sealing, edge trimming, hand patching, and pavement markings.

The project will require single-lane closures with one lane of alternating traffic open, using traffic regulators.

Work is expected to wrap up in early September.
