Bridge construction in Alger County to start August 5th

ALGER COUNTY, MI— Contractors have begun site preparation for a bridge replacement project in Alger County.

Work is set to begin August 5 along Dorsey Lake Road. The bridge is over a tributary to the West Branch of the Whitefish River.

Work on the $265,500 state-funded project will be completed by Triest Forest Products of Bark River. The road will be closed during bridge construction.

The project is expected to be completed by September 25.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
