DAFTER, MI— The Cloverland Electric Cooperative has received a grant to install electric vehicle chargers in Manistique and St. Ignace.
The $96,000 comes from the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy and will be used to install one 180-kilowatt DC fast charger at each site.
The project is part of a broader effort to enhance Michigan’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure under the Lake Michigan Circuit program, a collaborative effort spanning 1,100 miles of shoreline across Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. The program aims to promote electric vehicle use through reliable and accessible charging infrastructure.
Cloverland plans to start construction on the sites later this year.
