ISHPEMING, MI— Major work on the US-41/Lakeshore Drive roundabout in Ishpeming should be completed Wednesday.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says the new roundabout should be fully open to traffic around noon. The Lakeshore Drive detours will be lifted and temporary traffic signals at the intersection of US-41 and Country Lane will soon be removed.
Work on the $6.4 million project began in September of 2023. Construction was paused last winter and resumed in March. Some minor work on the project remains to be completed this fall.
