Road work next week in Houghton and Delta counties

DELTA AND HOUGHTON COUNTIES, MI— A couple of road-related projects are due to start next week in Delta and Houghton Counties.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is resurfacing two miles of US-2/US-41/M-35 from North 20th Street to 18.3 Lane in Delta County. The project will include asphalt cold milling resurfacing, shoulder work and pavement markings. The cold milling and paving will be completed at night.

Work will start Monday and is expected to be complete by mid-August.

And MDOT will install a traffic signal on M-26 at Canal Road in Houghton. The signal will be operated from approximately May until October each year with the signal placed in flash mode during the winter months. The exact schedule for seasonal operation of the signal will depend on traffic volumes and weather conditions.

The project will be complete by early July.
