Work on M-123 and US-2 to start this week

LUCE, CHIPPEWA AND MACKINAC COUNTIES, MI— Two eastern U.P. road projects are scheduled to begin this week.

Starting Tuesday, about 19 miles of M-123 will be resurfaced from Luce County Road 500 to Paradise, in Luce and Chippewa counties. The Michigan Department of Transportation says the end date of the project will be around October 24.

On Thursday, MDOT will start to resurface about 6 miles of US-2 from Brevort Lake Road to Martin Lake Road in Mackinac County. That project is expected to be completed by October 15.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
