HOUGHTON/HANCOCK, MI— Scheduled maintenance of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge will take place Thursday.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will conduct cable greasing early Thursday morning, requiring several bridge lifts of up to 30 minutes each.
The lifts are scheduled to begin after midnight and be completed by 6 a.m. Thursday. Resulting closures will affect vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
The schedule is weather-dependent and may be adjusted.
