HOUGHTON, MI— A Houghton traffic signal will go into flash mode starting Tuesday.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will change the signal at M-26 and Houghton Canal Road in the early morning. The signal will flash yellow for M-26 and flash red for Houghton Canal Road for the winter season.
MDOT installed the signal early this past summer and plans to operate it from approximately May until October each year with the signal placed in flash mode during the winter months. The exact schedule for seasonal operation of the signal depends on traffic volumes and weather conditions.
