MDOT to replace culvert on M-123 in Luce County starting next week

LUCE COUNTY, MI—- Emergency culvert repairs will require intermittent closures of a portion of M-123 in Luce County starting Monday.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says the affected area includes the culvert over Auger Creek north of Newberry.

Emergency work will require traffic to stop for up to 45 minutes at a time during working hours. Traffic will be released in alternating directions after each stoppage.

During non-working hours and holidays, the road will be open to alternating traffic using the temporary signal already in place.

The lane closure is expected to be in place until repairs can be completed, tentatively by December 19.
