EAGLE MILLS, MI— Marquette County Road 492 will be closed and detoured early next month as a project to turn the Eagle Mills intersection at M-35 into a roundabout begins.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says starting July 6, CR 492 will be closed to through-traffic from the US-41/492 intersection in Negaunee to just west of the M-35/CR 492 intersection, with traffic detoured onto US-41 to M-35. CR 492 will remain open to local traffic.
The detour is expected to be in place for approximately three weeks.
The work is part of the $6.2 million project to rebuild more than three miles of M-35 between County Road 480 and US-41. Work started in early May and is expected to be completed in mid-October.
