Numerous MDOT projects on tap for next week

road work ahead

UPPER PENINSULA, MI— A number of road projects are slated to begin in the U.P. next week.

The Michigan Department of Transportation will pave a carpool lot at the M-38/M-26 intersection in Ontonagon County starting Monday. The project is expected to wrap up by July 20.

Also on Monday, MDOT will start the resurfacing of about 12 miles of M-67 from US-41 to M-94 in Alger County. Officials say work will last until the end of October.

On Tuesday, crews will replace a culvert on M-95 southwest of Marquette County Road FLK in Humboldt Township. That project should last through July 14.

On July 7, MDOT will begin to resurface about 1.5 miles of M-64 from Sawmill Lane to US-2 in the village of Marenisco in Gogebic County. It will be finished by the end of August.

And about 2 miles of US-2 from west of US-141 to Urban Avenue in Crystal Falls will be resurfaced. That project is slated to start on July 9 and be complete by mid-August.
