MARQUETTE, MI— Reconstruction of a portion of Wright Street between Sugarloaf Ave. and Van Evera Ave. will begin August 11.

The road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project and local access within the project area will be limited and intermittent as the project progresses.

The road is expected to be fully open by October 30, 2026.

Vehicular traffic will be detoured around the project area using Sugarloaf Ave. and Presque Isle Ave. north to Hawley St. Pedestrian traffic will also be affected, as portions of the sidewalk will be removed and replaced on the north side of Wright St.

The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction and advisory signing.
