MDOT to grease cables on Portage Lake Lift Bridge early on Sept. 10

HOUGHTON, MI— Routine maintenance on the Portage Lake Lift Bridge between Houghton and Hancock is scheduled for Thursday, September 10.

Cable greasing is scheduled for early morning, requiring several bridge lifts of up to 30 minutes each. Lifts are scheduled to begin after 12:01 a.m. on September 10 and be completed by 6 a.m. Resulting closures will affect vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic.

The schedule is weather-dependent and may be adjusted.
