Beware of possible Marquette senior scam

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Police Department says a possible scam is targeting senior citizens in the area.

Some residents have received a letter that says it came from the “Seniors Center”.  Officers say they’re not associated with the Marquette Senior Center or any other center in the area.

Police are urging citizens to use caution if they get such letters.  They say people should examine and research the letters, and call the Marquette Senior Center at 228-0456 if they have questions or concerns.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
