Marquette Police Chief passes the torch

MARQUETTE, MI— The City of Marquette has a new chief of police.

Ryan Grim was appointed to the top spot Monday during a meeting of the Marquette City Commission. The lieutenant takes over from Blake Rieboldt, who is retiring after 28 years of service with the department, six of them as chief.

Grim has been in law enforcement for the past 20 years. His first day as Marquette City Police Chief will be April 11.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
