The Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation says the remains were found by a hunter Friday morning in a rural wooded area. Forensic experts say the skeleton belongs to an adult female.

Officials say right now, there’s no indication the remains match a known missing person from the greater Florence County area.
