MSP teen defensive driving school to be held again in June

ESCANABA, MI— Teens can ‘Train Like a Trooper’ during this summer’s defensive driving school.

The Michigan State Police is once again holding the five-hour program June 28th-30th in Escanaba.

Participants will learn the following:

  • Defensive driving
  • Skid control
  • Serpentine
  • Controlled braking
  • Evasive maneuvering
  • Confined area maneuvering
  • Off-road recovery (emergency)

A total of 72 students can attend. If classes fill up, students will be put on a waitlist. Administrators will then contact those teens to get them signed up and registered.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
