Skeletal remains found in Holmes Township

HOLMES TOWNSHIP, MI— Human remains have been found in a wooded location in Menominee County.

Sheriff’s deputies were alerted Wednesday, May 10 around 6:20 p.m. to the discovery of partial skeletal remains at a residential property on Swanson Road in Holmes Township. Upon arrival, they confirmed the presence of a human skull.

With the assistance of a cadaver dog, law enforcement worked into the following afternoon in an attempt to locate additional remains. Police say while the remains have not been scientifically identified, probable identification has been made.

The case remains under investigation, but foul play is not suspected at this time.
