Police shooting injures one near Marquette

MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI— A male suspect was injured in an officer-involved shooting in Marquette County Thursday.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Hometown Security Team had initiated a traffic stop around 7 p.m. on US-41. They were trying to arrest the suspect on a felony warrant when the shooting happened.

Troopers rendered first aid at the scene before the suspect was taken to UPHS-Marquette, where he’s being treated for his injuries.

No troopers were injured in the incident.

The case remains under investigation.
