Sheriff Greg Zyburt running for third term

MARQUETTE, MI— Marquette County Sheriff Greg Zyburt is running for reelection.

Zyburt was first elected in 2016. He says over his first two terms, his office has obtained more than $1 million in grants for training, equipment updates, and traffic safety enforcement.

Zyburt has spent the last two years as chair of the Michigan Coalition on Law Enforcement Standards and was just reappointed as a commissioner by Governor Gretchen Whitmer. MCOLES sets policy, prepares selection and training standards for law enforcement officers, and conducts training for agencies throughout the state.

Zyburt is currently running unopposed in the sheriff’s race, which will be on the November ballot.
