Upper Peninsula Peace Officer Memorial to be held May 15 in Ironwood

IRONWOOD, MI— The Michigan State Police, Wakefield Post is holding a memorial service for fallen Upper Peninsula peace officers next week.

The service will take place at Gogebic Community College. It will feature a roll call of fallen officers, a laying of the wreath, and a performance of Taps. The event will also include a keynote speech by Art and Tiffany Romans, family of Ironwood native and fallen officer Ervin Romans II.

The service will be held May 15th at 11 a.m. Central at GCC’s Lindquist Center.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
