Teens can Train Like a Trooper in Escanaba in June

ESCANABA, MI— U.P. teens can learn to drive defensively and safely from Michigan State Police this summer.

“Train Like a Trooper” is a half-day program that includes one hour of online instruction and four hours of hands-on training. Skills taught will include defensive driving, skid control, evasive maneuvering, and confined area maneuvering.

Classes will be offered in Escanaba June 26th through the 28th and are limited to 16 people each. Participants must have their license and be between 16 and 19 years old.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
