Marquette Red Lobster officials say free meal vouchers are fake

MARQUETTE, MI— The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is looking into a scam targeting the Red Lobster restaurant in Marquette.

Monday around 1:40 p.m., deputies went to the restaurant to speak with employees. They said a number of people had come in with a laminated flyer from a company called MASA, which provides coverage for emergency transportation like ambulances. The flyer advertises a free meal.

Red Lobster officials confirmed they were unaware of the claim and are not honoring the free meal.

The investigation is ongoing. The Sheriff’s Office will provide updates as soon as possible.
