Menominee County deputies assist feds in Forte' Industries investigation

STEPHENSON, MI— Law enforcement in Menominee County supported federal agencies Thursday in an investigation into Forte’ Industries in Stephenson.

Menominee County Sheriff Darrin Kudwa says deputies assisted in a federal operation led by the Department of Homeland Security at a number of the company’s locations. Representatives from eight federal agencies were present, as well.

Kudwa says the Sheriff’s Office was strictly limited to providing a local law enforcement presence and assisting in maintaining peace and order during the operation. Deputies did not participate in the operation itself.

The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office is not involved in any ongoing investigative proceedings related to Forte’ Industries. All investigative matters and enforcement actions are being handled exclusively by the appropriate federal agencies.
