Graduates from Trooper Recruit School headed to UP MSP posts

MARQUETTE, MI— Five new troopers are joining Michigan State Police posts in the Upper Peninsula.

The officers are from a group of 50 who graduated last week as part of the 149th Trooper Recruit School in Lansing.

Brad Renwick and Canon Rose are heading to the St. Ignace Post, Nathan Wascher to the Iron Mountain Post, Simon Rajala to Wakefield, and Zack Sackett to the Calumet Post.

Three of the new troopers were outstanding performers in recruit school and received class awards. Trooper Canon Rose received the Team Building Award; Trooper Brad Renwick received the Academic Achievement Award; and Trooper Zachery Sackett received the Sgt. Matt Rogers Driving Excellence Award.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
