F/Lt. Janisse chosen as new Gladstone Post commander

GLADSTONE, MI— The Michigan State Police Gladstone Post has a new commander.

A native of Elk Rapids, Michigan, First Lieutenant Patrick Janisse earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and communication from Aquinas College.

He joined the MSP in 2014 as a member of the 127th Trooper Recruit School and was first assigned to the St. Ignace Post, where he worked out of Manistique and served as the post’s community service trooper. Janisse later transferred to the Gladstone Post, where he served as a field training officer and evidence technician before being promoted to sergeant.

He helped develop the Upper Peninsula Teenage Defensive Driving Program, and in 2023 was named the Eighth District’s “Trooper of the Year” for his efforts.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
