HOUGHTON, MI— The Houghton Police Department is inviting public comment on its operations.
The department is going through a re-accreditation process. It must comply with 130 standards in order to achieve accredited status.
A team from the Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission will arrive on July 31 to examine all aspects of the department’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. As part of a final, on-site assessment, employees and members of the general
public are invited to provide comments to the assessment team.
