Law enforcement holding training event at Rapid River High School Wednesday

Active Assailant Exercises

RAPID RIVER, MI— Police will converge at Rapid River High School Wednesday as part of an active assailant training exercise.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Delta County Sheriff’s Office and multiple other agencies will work together to practice and strengthen their response to an active assailant situation. The event is intended to improve coordination, communication, and emergency response capabilities among participating agencies and school personnel.

The public is advised that emergency vehicles and personnel may be present in and around Rapid River High School during the training period. They’re reminded that it’s a planned training exercise, not an actual emergency.
