MARQUETTE, MI— Northern Michigan University ranks #2 among small public schools nationwide that have been designated 2024-25 Military Friendly Schools by VIQTORY Media.
Northern is making its seventh-consecutive appearance in the Top 10. It’s also recognized as a Military Friendly Spouse School.
The Military Friendly Schools designation honors the top 15-percent of colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide that provide benefits for military and veteran students.
NMU exceeded the Military Friendly benchmark standards in six categories. The university rated 80 percent above the benchmark for military student support and retention, nearly 78 percent above for financial aid and assistance, and nearly 75 percent higher for culture and commitment.
