Search launched near Hogback Mountain for missing Marquette Township man

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI— Police are searching Hogback Mountain in Marquette Township for a missing man.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says Aaron McGeorge, 40, of Marquette Township left his house Monday between 7 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. He was driving a red, 2011 Ford F-150 pickup. Around 8 a.m. Tuesday the truck was found on County Road 550 near Hogback. Officials believe McGeorge went hiking in the area.

Marquette County Search and Rescue is using tracking dogs to search the region. Authorities are asking people to stay away from Hogback to avoid scent contamination.

McGeorge is 5’9” and around 165 lbs. He has dark hair that is very short or shaved, brown eyes, a thin mustache and some facial hair below his lower lip. McGeorge usually wears a baseball cap. It’s unknown what clothing he was wearing.
