Missing Florence County tubers found safe

FLORENCE COUNTY, WI— Four people who had gone tubing in Florence County, Wisconsin on Monday and hadn’t returned were found safe Tuesday.

Sheriff Teresa Chrisman says the tubers had put in at the Pine River Oxbow on September 4th. After a search of the water and the outlying areas of the Pine River, all four individuals were found safe Tuesday morning.

Assisting in the incident were the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, Florence Rescue, Florence County Emergency Management, Florence Highway, Florence Forestry and Parks, and county volunteer fire department members.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
