Missing Forsyth Township juvenile found safe after he got lost on a walk

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI— A boy who went missing on a walk in Forsyth Township Friday was found safe.

Township Police say they were notified at 6:30 p.m. when the juvenile hadn’t returned to his home near County Road 565. When it got darker and the temperature started dropping, officials called in the Marquette County Special Operations Division-Search and Rescue and a team of Forsyth Township firefighters.

Search and Rescue deployed a K-9 unit, a drone equipped with infrared capability, and ground search teams.

Around 8:45 Saturday morning, the juvenile was found about six miles from home. He was in good health and returned to his family.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
