Missing woman's body recovered from Bay of Green Bay

Menominee Police Department

DOOR COUNTY, WI— The body of a Wisconsin woman who went missing in January has been found in the Bay of Green Bay.

Lisa Pipp, 42, of Greendale walked away from a vehicle on the ice of Green Bay during an argument on January 13. Air, water, and ground searches were done by multiple agencies.

Last Wednesday, the Door County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a body in the water near Little Strawberry Island. On Friday, an autopsy and scientific identification procedures confirmed the remains were those of Lisa Pipp.

Officials say there were no signs of foul play. A final determination on the cause and manner of death are pending toxicology and full autopsy results.

Assisting in the recovery were the Gibraltar Fire Department & First Responders, the Gibraltar Police Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Door County Emergency Services, and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
