Authorities searching for missing Munising woman

Munising, MI - The Alger County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for help in locating a missing Munising woman. Deputies say 65-year old Starla Goings was last seen at her residence last Friday evening. She’s described as about 5-foot-4-inches tall and weighing about 160-pounds. She has short white hair and brown eyes. There is currently no known description of what she was wearing when she went missing, and the circumstances of her disappearance are also unknown. Shortly after she was reported missing Sunday evening, the vehicle Goings may have been driving was located in the vicinity of her home on Peninsula Point Road in Munising Township.

Alger County Sheriff’s Deputies continued their search today with assistance from partner agencies including personnel from the Michigan State Police, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Anyone with information about Starla’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Alger County Sheriff’s Office at 906-387-7030 or the MSP Negaunee Post at 906-475-9922.
