Body of missing Gogebic County man found in northeastern Wisconsin

ASHLAND, WI— The body of a missing Ironwood Township man has been found in Ashland County, Wisconsin.

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office says Frank Wilson, 91, was found around 11 p.m. Sunday, roughly two miles from his vehicle in Morse, Wisconsin.

Wilson, who had dementia, left his home on Sunset Road early Thursday morning. Deputies and the Civil Air Patrol launched ground and aerial searches.

Wilson’s vehicle was discovered by the side of the road in Morse on Sunday. K-9s with the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office Search Team found his body later that night.

Wilson’s family was notified shortly thereafter.

No foul play is suspected.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
