Law enforcement searching for missing Marquette woman

MARQUETTE, MI— Marquette Police are asking the public for help in finding a missing woman.

Eileen Mandel, 69, was last seen leaving her residence Sunday around 5:30 p.m. in a white 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck with Michigan registration DD70423. The truck has a black tonneau cover, running boards, and chrome accents.

Mandel is 5’4” tall and 110 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a green sweater.

Police say Mandel has made concerning statements to family in the past and may currently be in an altered mental state.

Based on the investigation so far, Mandel may have been in the area of Wal-Mart and Schwemwood Park on County Road 492 in Marquette Township on Sunday evening. Currently, there is no known direction of travel or place of interest that Mandel has likely gone to.

Anyone with information about Mandel’s location, who has seen her recently, or has seen the vehicle should contact the Marquette Police Department at 906-228-0400.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
