Missing for two months, Trenton Massey's body finally found in Marquette waters

MARQUETTE, MI— The body of NMU student Trenton Massey, missing since February 22, has been located in Marquette’s Lower Harbor.

The Marquette Police Department says volunteers from Hybrid Robotics, an underwater ROV manufacturing company based in Traverse City, discovered his body Friday around 3:30 p.m. It was submerged in the water north of the Shiras dock.

Divers from the Marquette County Sheriff's Office recovered Massey’s body. It was taken to UPHS-Marquette, where an autopsy will be performed.

Police say the incident remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
