FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI— A missing 6-year-old Forsyth Township girl has been found safe, following a multi-agency search Wednesday night.
Forsyth Township Police and Emergency Services were dispatched around 8:25 p.m. to the area of County Road 456 and Setter Drive. It was reported the girl had gone out to play with the family’s dogs, but when she and dogs didn’t return, the family called 911.
A number of law enforcement agencies, drone and K-9 teams, and community members responded to search for the girl where she was last seen. After several hours, a family member was alerted to movement on his trail camera about a half-mile south of where she’d gone missing. It captured a positive image of the girl.
Searchers were directed to an area near Ski Hill Road. The girl was found shortly thereafter in good health and returned to her family.
Assisting Forsyth Township Police in the incident were Forsyth Township Fire & EMS, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division, Michigan State Police from the Negaunee and Gladstone Posts and TST Unit (K9 and Drone Team), along with the MSP Aviation Unit, and Marquette County Central Dispatch.
