$1.1 million going to Houghton airport

HOUGHTON, MI--   Houghton County Memorial Airport is getting more than a million dollars in federal funds.

Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters say the U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding the airport $1,122,990 dollars. The money will go toward costs related to operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitization, janitorial services and combating the spread of pathogens at the airport.

The money was secured through the American Rescue Plan.
