Crowdfunding campaign launched for Marquette Fish Cleaning Station project

MARQUETTE, MI— The South Shore Fishing Association has started a crowdfunding campaign to restore the Marquette Lower Harbor fish cleaning station.

Officials say the station has been working inconsistently and needs to be repaired. The association wants to update the site with a new electrical panel, grinding appliance, stainless steel retractors with brushes, and other fixtures.

If the Patronicity campaign reaches its $10,000 goal by July 16, the project will win a matching grant through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Public Spaces Community Places program.

Project details and other information are at www.patronicity.com/fishmqt.
